You Did What in First Grade?
It was the fall of 1961 when Dukey made it to first grade in Revere Massachusetts just north of Boston and of course named after the famous Paul Revere. He lived in the projects on Constitution Avenue. There were four families in the one building they lived in.
Mrs. Rubenstein was the first grade teacher. Dukey sat pretty much in the middle of a 30 student class. We’re not sure what got in this morons mind but he decided to crawl on the floor when the teachers back was facing the class and crawl out the door into the hallway. He proceeded to the bathroom where he could climb around the stalls and up on a landing above the door. After about 20 minutes he cracked the classroom door open a little bit and crawled back to his chair to the amusement of all the other first grade classmates. The next day three or four of his friends decided to join him. When Mrs. Rubenstein noticed some of the children missing she proceeded out to the hall and we guess she could hear the kids having a blast in the bathroom. She got the principal and when he opened the door Dukey was above his head on the landing. The other kids were escorted out and were told they had detention after class. The Dukester tried cracking the door and sneaking back into his chair but was caught by Mrs. Rubenstein and also told to join the others after school. There is no moral to this story, except maybe this is where the stupid started.
