The Famous Water Ski Moment 

It was July, 1985 and a beautiful Day in Wrong Beach, which is what they called Long Beach because, of the troubles they caused down there. Lenny’s water ski boat was running well the last couple months. Joey G made it a threesome. Dukey had probably only skied may be 10 to 15 times in his whole life. They were going a couple times a week and he was getting better each time they went on one ski. They would go up and down The Los Angeles river and into Long Beach Bay by the Queen Mary. It was a beautiful Saturday and a crowd was beginning to fill the bleachers. There was a water ski show about to start about an hour from when they entered the water. Dukey told Lenny to go fast and close to the bleachers. He was going to put on a show before the show. Apparently he wasn’t as good as he thought he was, because when he went to cut from the left side of the boat to jump over the wake to the right side of the boat, he was launched in the air head over heels and wiped out. Probably the worst wipe out he has ever done in any sport. He could hear the crowd going, “ooooohhhh” as he plowed into the water. He knocked the wind out of himself and was almost unconscious as he floated in the life jacket until Lenny and G came and dragged the moron out of the water in front of the stands. Dukey thinks the crowd got their moneys worth before the show began.
